ChatGPT Can Help You Read Your Astrocartography Chart
Find the best places for you to live, find love or recognition for your work, or even go viral
The greatest gift astrocartography has given me is relief from the idea that there is one perfect place for me on this planet.
Astrocartography, a branch of astrology that maps your birth chart onto the world map, doesn’t claim to know that one single best location for you.
It simply says, “This place offers this, that place offers that.”
It shows you how different locations in the world may shape your experiences, energy and life themes, and then leaves the choice up to you.
Astrocartography feels especially useful now, in a world where remote work and online entrepreneurship allow many of us to live almost anywhere, or live in several places throughout the year.
So the question becomes: What are your priorities, and what are they during this phase of your life?
☾ ♌︎
I may be guilty of having driven myself crazy over the years trying to pin down that one perfect place. And now I have a husband to consider too, it’s become an even more complex equation.
Astrocartography helped me realise this one “perfect place” maybe didn’t exist.
But many good ones do. Your chart will highlight several locations with strong, supportive influences.
And just like I don’t believe in one soulmate, I no longer believe in one singular soulplace.
What matters most is understanding what you want most:
A home that nurtures a sense of family?
A city that propels your career?
A haven for creative flow and spiritual connection?
Or maybe a few places, at different times in life, or even throughout your year?
Astrocartography can show you where those energies live in the world, for you.
And more importantly, it can help you understand how to work with the influences present in a place, once you live there/if you already do.
So gather together your birth time, date and place, and your shortlist of potential perfect places and let’s ask the stars where they think you should live.

Ask ChatGPT to Read Your Astrocartography Chart.
Gather your birth time (down to the minute if possible, down to the half hour is fine), date and place and enter it into astro.com here to create your astrocartography chart.
It will generate a world map with your personalized astrocartography chart and all the little criss-crossing lines overlaid like this:The lines on the map represent places where specific planets were rising, setting or culminating at the exact moment of your birth, showing where each planet’s energy is strongest and most directly felt in your life.
Living on or near a line intensifies that planet's influence in your life.Lines are not inherently good or bad — they just show themes you’re likely to experience in that place.
The aspect (conjunction, trine, square, etc.) also shapes how the planet expresses itself.
Choose 3-4 places you want to focus on. Pick places you are naturally drawn to/dream of/have loved visiting, as this intuitive pull means something too!
Lately I am looking up influences in the town where I am based in Marche, Italy, in Paris, France (where I used to live and still love) and in Mallorca, Spain (somewhere I’d like to check out to possibly live).Locate and zoom in on your chosen places using the Scalable Map option (default drop-down) and you should hopefully be able to see some lines running over or nearby your place of choice.
Most astrocartographers would say the maximum limit of influence would be around 500km (310 miles) from a line for you to feel its impact (there is a little 50km/50mile ruler on the map, bottom left hand corner to estimate distances).
0–50 km (0–30 mi): Very strong, direct impact50–200 km (30–125 mi): Strong, clear influence
200–500 km (125–310 mi): Moderate influence
If your place is west of the line, the influence is more subtle, stable and grounded, as if you have already integrated it into your being.
If your place is east of the line, its influence may be more intense as you will be moving towards that energy, transforming. If you click on a line on your chart (within the map area), a title (e.g. Moon’s Node/MC Line below) naming that line and an explanation will appear on the right hand side of the map.
As a non-astrology expert, I find these explanations a bit generic, especially as they’re not integrated with any context of the actual place (e.g. this influence is amplified in Paris as it’s a lively city full of creatives).
This is where ChatGPT comes in. Zoom in on the map to your place of choice, notice the lines hovering on/around your place and click on each of the lines (within the map area) and copy and paste the titles of each relevant line for that place. (e.g. For Bali in my chart below, this is the Sun/MC Line).
Write a background on yourself, your career/living locations, what you’re looking for in a living situation and a little astrology info (if you like), for example:
“I’m a photographer, writer and brand strategist have been freelancing (online apart from photography) for 13 years, I live with my husband in his small town in Italy, I’m Australian. I have also lived in London, Paris, Bali and was a digital nomad for about 5 years. Things I’m looking for in a place to live: active creative/spiritual community, to feel clear, visible and valued in my work, nature influence. My sun sign is leo, rising sign is capricorn, my moon is in cancer.”Enter your background, plus this prompt into ChatGPT, pasting in the relevant line names for that place:
What are the effects of ______ (place) on me in astrocartography, given the ______ line runs to the [east/west] of this place and the ______ line runs to the [east/west]?
If you want to go deeper understanding these influences within the context of the place and its characteristics, ask ChatGPT:
“With your knowledge of ______ as a place and your background on me, how do the lines and my chart integrate contextually with the characteristics of this place and how I would experience the influences living there?”Go wild repeating these prompts for each place you want information on! And freestyle with your own follow-up questions.
After you’ve asked it to interpret a few places and their energies for you, we bring it all together!
Ask ChatGPT to compare the places it has analyzed for you, also feeding it certain things you are looking for in your life right now, e.g. a love relationship, creative career, being closer to nature, community, sense of home:
“If I’m looking for ______, ______ and ______ in my life, out of ______, ______ and ______ places you’ve just analyzed, compare in a table which places would be best or worst for me?”This is part of the summary it came up with for me:
♌︎ ☉ ☾
Note that when you just upload a screenshot of your entire chart with the whole map of the world, it will invent complete made-up lies as I think it’s just too complex and unclear where the lines fall on the map. I also have experimented with uploading the zoomed in screenshots over a place and mostly it worked but sometimes it got it wrong! So I would recommend following the exact steps above even if they’re a little tedious/manual.
For a fantastic guide to what each of the lines mean from an actual human being, astrocartographer Helena Woods offers a great free download on the meanings of lines (and her site/podcast is great for learning all things astrocartography!).
☾ ♌︎ ♋︎ ☉ ♐︎
I left Australia and home when I was 25 (13 years ago), living in London, then Bali, then Paris and finally now in a small town in Marche, Italy, even calling myself a full-time digital nomad for five years in there.
All this moving around opened a sort of pandora’s box of comparison of places. I always had this belief deep down that I’d one day find my one perfect place in the world that gave me absolutely everything.
Inevitably as I approach 40, I’ve had this feeling like the music is about to stop, that it’s time to choose my “forever” place.
Astrocartography helped me realise that there may not be one perfect place for me. The solution is probably either living between two places (country and city locations), or intentionally building travel into my life to seek out the influences I’m missing.
Ultimately it’s also taught me that I can learn to embrace and work with the energies present in the place where I live right now.
☾ ♌︎
I hope you have fun immersed in this for an hour or so, imagining yourself living your best life in Paris/LA/Marrakech/the countryside of Italy!
Disclaimer: I am not an astrologer and ChatGPT for sure isn’t either. But just like we can dabble in getting a possible diagnosis on a niggling symptom or a full-blown business strategy from ChatGPT, we know if we want the most accurate, personalized, intergrated advice and strategies, we need to talk to an actual human professional!
If you’re really thinking of making any big moves based on astrocartography, hire a professional astrologer to read your chart and help integrate all the many, many complicated facets and interactions of the elements that make up the big picture for you.

I’d love to hear from you in the comments — have you tried plugging your astrocartography details into ChatGPT? Or do you have any personal experiences with astrocartography? Has it felt accurate for you?
